Knights and friends who work the Corn Festival carnival ticket booth are raising funds for an extremely good cause. Immaculate
Conception School is starting, this school year, school-wide participation in the Accelerated Reader program. This program,
which is already offered in the public schools in Morris, provides age-appropriate book selections, followed by study guides
and quizzes. The readers' quiz scores and reading progress are sent to their teachers for individual feedback.
The first year of the accelerated reader program is being funded by memorial donations for Mrs. Martha (DJ) Balzer, the
former librarian of ICS. The Knights of Columbus duPontaris council #845 has decided to use the funds from the Corn Festival
Carnival ticket sales to continue funding the accelerated reader program in future years in memory of Mrs. Balzer. Thank you
for joining and supporting this cause.
