Knights of Columbus DuPontaris Council #845, Morris, IL

Our Charter

DuPontaris Council, like all Knights of Columbus councils, is founded in service. Faith, family and fraternity are our touchstones. The five program areas that we focus on are Church, Community, Famlily, Youth, and Council. We actively support the priests and religious serving Catholics around the world. The Knights also strongly support life, in the infirm, God's special people, and the unborn.

History

duPontaris Council #845 has been in existance since 1904. There are about 100 Catholic gentlemen that are currently members of this council.

Council Officers

Most officers in Council #845 are elected annually. Some positions are appointed. The nominations for officers will be conducted at the May meeting, elections in June, and installation in July.
 
Officers include the Grand Knight, Deputy Grand Knight, Chaplain, Financial Secretary, Treasurer, Recorder, Advocate, Guards, Chancellor, and Trustees.

Brother John Connon is the Grand Knight. John and his wife Beverly have lived in Morris for several years, and have two daughters. Rachel is going to be a sophomore at the US Naval Academy and their other daughter is going to be a junior at Morris Community High School.
Deputy Grand Knight is Brother Mike Golimowski. Mike and his wife MaryKay are both teaching professionals, and their older son Kyle has followed in their footsteps. Kyle lives in Iowa with his wife and their soon to be two sons. Mike and Kay's younger son, Keith, who is also a brother Knight, is an accountant living in Naperville.
Financial Secretary Keith Deck is also a past Grand Knight. Keith and Janie have three children, and have lived in Morris over 15 years. Elder son Christopher lives in the Chicago suburbs, daughter Jenny lives in Marseilles with her husband and three daughters and one son. Keith and Janie's youngest son David is building a house in Marseilles for him and his bride.
Treasurer Frank Hankins plays a valuable role by managing our finances. Frank and his wife Chris have two children, both at college.
Brother Chuck Hammond is the council Chancellor. Chuck is a semi-retired music teacher, repairs band instruments, is on the high school board, and is becoming a cowboy so he can enjoy horses with his wife, Diane. Chuck and Diane have two daughters, Beth and Jessica.
